PostSubject: ISP HELP   Thu Nov 20, 2008 10:01 pm

I am currently with Orange, I get a mx of about 1.7 download speed each day but by 5.30pm each day till 10.30pm my ping is so bad on BF2, I am getting kicked off british servers for 250+ pings.

I have no adware/spyware running

So I think its Orange overloaded.

My line should take up to 4.5Megabits

ANY IDEAS WHAT ISP IS WORTH LOOKING AT PLEASE??? sunny

Stay away from Tiscali.

I am having similar trouble due to over subscription.

Between 6 and 11 and all weekend I have wildly fluctuating pings
which makes BF2 interesting to say the least.

Ah.

Well just so long as you do not want to do any p2p downloading (torrents, iPlayer, 4OD etc) or gaming during peak hours (16:00 - 00:00), then talktalk should be fine.

You do?

Oh dear.

Suggested slogan:
"Talk Talk - We're cheap (and nasty)"

i pay 22 a month for 10mb from virgin..
occasional outage, once in a blue moon...
Never get the full speed, but i get a good speed none the less, never have ping probs
it hates p2p, and torrents, cant play while theyre running..
can dl at like 1.2mb/s u0pload at about 100kb/s on good days
free phone line too.. i dont use it tho i just got it cos it was cheaper than the interweb on its own:s
takes fibre optics so none of that wireless or goin through bts servers took about 2 weeks for em to install it
i think they have a 30 or 50 squid isntallation charge now, or something..
